OK, took the drive out there, got there at 12ish and there was no one around
Here's a few pictures of what awaits.
you turn off of the Old Princes Highway through the gate, as you can see there is a lot of roadworks going on but the road itself is find, they are just widening it.
Here's a map of the area, if you stay to the right you drive over a narrow bridge that takes you to the BBQ area down by the Dam, there is another BBQ area up to the left on top of the hill but there was a party on there while I was there so could not take a look at that one, but the one by the Dam looks pretty nice anyway.
And as you can see, dogs are welcome (for Kirsty and Jesse I know this is important) but they need to be kept on a lead.
Here are the car parks at the end of the road, there is heaps of parking, you can see 3 of the carpark areas here, where I am parked is the bottom one, there is one to the left of the picture which is the one seen in the following shot and another further up the hill. There is also more parking behind where I am standing for the picture as well.
Here's the BBQ area, heaps of seating available, so you won't need camping chairs unless you really want them. There are 4 BBQ plates provided as well, so if it's as quiet as it was today, you'll have no issues at all finding somewhere to cook.
Finally, some shots of the Dam which is a very short stroll from the lowest carpark and the BBQ area.
