    Arrow Black tyres......... ??

Ok, so because these tyre's have still got 90% tread on em, no, I'm not going to buy a better tyre till I need to.

So onto the facts, these tyres are getting that whitish/greyish look to em...... but they suit the whole vehicle better if they are nice and 100% dark black.

Obviously the spray on stuff "Tyre shine" doesn't last long and isn't water proof. And I have the feeling that is what's caused this sudden change in the appearance also......

Is there some sort of rubber treatment which actually penetrates and keeps it naturally dark for extended periods ? And while I'm wishfully hoping, lol, something thats water proof as well ?

Or is tyre paint the only way to go ? //Do they still sell that ?

you can still get the black tyre paint stuff - that lasts longer than the spray on stuff, but it's still not a permenant solution... just every few washes of the car reapply

303 Is the best rubber/vinyl treatment I have ever used. Don't know if you get it in your area though.

Just be careful not to sniff too much of the solvents in the silicon sprays. That stuff will get you off your head in seconds. And don't have your compressor running nearby if you ever want to use it for painting. Fill your compressor with that and you'll get some interesting paint efffects.

The Meguairs Tire Gel works brilliantly. My front tyres got done a couple of months ago and still look way darker than my 3 week old rear tyres which haven't had the treatment.

That maguirs stuff is awsome. Can be hard to apply to tyres with fine groove patterns on sidewalls though. Easiest just to go to supercrap auto and by heaps of the cheapest aerosol tyre spray you can find and just recoat regularly. Only takes a few seconds to give the tyres a spray. I do like the maguirs stuff though and try and use it whenever I get around to washing my cars though.

    yes silicon spray

    thats what i use

i have tested the cheaper brands $3 and the expensive brands $12+ and i have come to the conclusion that the cheaper stuff is not as good as the expensive stuff in terms of using it and how long it lasts. i my self always used to use the cheaper stuff cause its cheap but after my little trial. expensive products are really worth it

sometime soon i'll do a test on the expensive tyre shine brands to find the best product

Yeah, i've always been impressed with the Super Steep silicon spray. $3 a can, and it seems to work fine on my tyres. it only lasts a few weeks, yes, but hey... it takes all of 3 seconds per tyre to put back on.
