    What did the rest of the piston look like? If you were getting oil passed your turbo bearings you may have been feeding your engine a low octane mix which could have caused the ring land damage.

    or perhaps it was just detonating from too much advance/poor tune and you busted the ring lands?

    or.. your ring gaps were too tight, the rings bound, and busted the ring lands...

    il post a pic of the piston tomorrow, by the looks of where its broken its been cracked for a while. couldnt see the crack on the outside, then when i was removed the rings it pretty much fell off.

    dropped it all off to the new engine builder todey, his thoughts were the clearences weren't done vey well by the last machinist

    30psi what piston bore clearance do you use in your engine? the recemended 0.12-0.14mm
    just thinking that it seems a bit high
