    Default 2j - no exhaust

Has anyone ever started thier 2j without an exhaust system on it?

I am having to drive mine without even a manifold on to get it into the garage where we will me making the new dump pipe etc.

besides blocking oil and water feeds for the turbo, will this cause any problems?

Or just be indescribably and rediculously loud?

    Matt

Its only 25 m i need to drive. Just very steep and I cant think of any other way to get it in there, besides borrowing a local rugby team to push it.

yea might want try not to rev it too much, or at least have someone prepared for fire, those flames were shooting out into the engine bay quite a lot in the vid.

yeah, not a drive through garage and the slope goes right to the opening of the shed. Flat tow is not really an option.

We'll find out what a good idea it was about 11 am tomorrow.

    Wish me luck.

idle it in first, have someone walk beisde the engine bay with extingisher.

uber dodgey but if you have to drive it, mays well be "safe"

wilbo's sounded pretty cool with only a short dump pipe - but no manifold at all is destined for things to go horribly wrong.

find a mate who has a boat and borrow the pulley blocks from the main arm and a snatch strap then pull the car up to the garage/house.

note: - do not choose your anchoring point while drunk ... removing a brick pillar is entertaining but costly.

I've used a block and tackle in situations like this. Attach one end to a solid anchoring point and the other end to the car, then reef away. You might only be able to do a few metres at a time but at least it won't set anything on fire.
