Default 3S-## oilpan to 5S-FE. Does it fit?

Does anybody know this for sure?
I need to change oilpan to my SXV10 Camry(allmost rusted through)

There are heaps more 3S-## oilpans, 5S-FE ones are quite rare.

Does the balance shafts need more space, or do they fit inside 3S pan and is the bolt patters even same?

    Thanks

Yeah the 3S-GE one will fit, however a 3S-FE oil pan probably wont. i think 3SFE usually has a sump gasket, whereas 5S-FE and 3S-GE/GTE oil pans just use goo.

As for the balance shafts - well you've got them right there, have a look to see how far they intrude into the sump and take a guess

measure the clearances on your pan, then go to a wrecker and measure the clearances on the proposed new pan... that will be the only way to know for sure.

Yeah probably save yourself a bunch of time rather than waiting weeks for some guy who actually has done this before to reply
