    Default Tarago ACR30 2001 OBD2 connector

    Hi all,
I want to read diagnostic information from the OBD2 connector on 2001 Tarago ACR30R with 2AZ-FE engine. Has anyone done this successfully on this model in Australia?
I have 3 different USB adapters and none of them work. ELM327, Mini VCI, VCX NANO. That suggests to me the problem is likely the car / obd2 port.
I can see pin 5 is missing, but at least one of my adapters has pin 4 and 5 shorted.
If the problem is non-standard OBD2 port wiring, is it possible to re-wire the port so it will work?
Does anyone have schematic for this car re OBD2 port and connection to ECU?
    Thanks in advance!

Your adaptors don't work in what way? Won't power up / won't communicate with one module / one bus / all modules?

Check B+ power at 16 and ground at 4 to start.

Toyota Australia didn't adopt OBDII until around 2004/5, they ran a proprietary version before that (after OBDI got slowly phased out) with an OBDII-style plug but with different pinouts and software.

Adaptors power up and self-test ok, but won't communicate with any module. Pin 16 and 4 check out fine (12V, GND)

What you've stated Hiro sounds plausible. Do you (or anyone) have any pinout details for the plug in my car?
And for my understanding, is the proprietary nature of the port related to non-standard wiring of the port only, or is the ECU somehow non-OBDII too?
