    a few faults:

valve stem seals, sump gasket, smokey turbos/turbo seal, sagging/broken armrest (where power window controls are), dead airbag suspension, foggy headlights, slipping gearbox, digital dash malfunction.

Its a TT so it wont have air suspension
Never heard of the sump gasket being a problem?
And if the box is slipping its because its been thrashed or has a high-hp engine, not because theres a problem with them (there isnt, theyre a good box, for an auto)

Other problems are all minor/fixable, only the turbos is a major issue

I had my stock TT 5spd at a ALSC dyno day a few years ago. It pulled 156rwkw, no mods, and about 150k on the clock.

front lower control arm bushes get worn easily (if you are looking at a 100km+ model) and the steering bushes also are usually pretty average as well.

I am runing a 1JZ GTE with the factory R154 turbo manual box in a Celica with 321 RWKW, with no problem to date, but have heard that probably is a safe maximum limit ? But also as you Know it all depends on how hard you are on the car ...
In my opinion are very good engine / driveline combo in a nice but maybe a bit heavy car, actually looking at buying a Soarer myself some time ... In my opinion the twin turbo is the only one to look at .. Computers can't be remaped but can & do get Piggy backed ..
