hey,
well mine did the same thing except after a long hot drive(40 degree weather)
anyway im sure that its starter motor related. well the thing id try first
is getting a rod or something long enough to get to the starter motor
and tap it.(this shakes loose all the crap thats accumilated on bushes and commutator.
anyway if this doesnt work u might have to pull apart the starter motor and do as follows.
1) disconnect the battery
2) remove the starter motor
3) undo the end cap and long through-bolts, and remove the end cover carefully
4) check the brushes are long enough to press firmly on the commutator
5) remove the brush plate, carefully removing the brushes as necessary
6) clean the dirty areas on the brushes and commutator (this may need fine sandpaper)
7) clean out the slots on the commutator
8) check the drive pinion operates smoothly (WD40 is good to losen it)
9) re-grease the shafts and reassemble the motor parts
10) re-fit the motor
Hope that helps
cheers
