Exclamation Air Conditioning Problems AE95/AE92 Help Appreciated

    Hey All

I have a AE95 Corolla so same engine bay and dash as AE92... anyway my air con is doing funny things. I use to be an auto elec but i didnt do it for long so im not sure what the problem is

    Anyway here is the problem:

When the engine is just started and is cold aircon works fine but when the engine warms up the aircon still works fine but instead of the engine idling up it drops down past the normal warm idle revs.

Anyone have any ideas on whats going on?

    Cheers

Have you adjusted the air con idle up?

Maybe the air con idle up is broken if its not adjusted correctly.

It will work fine at cold due to the high rpm idle inherant with 4ages when cold.

I had a friends car do the same thing and it was the idle up solenoid for the a/c was unplugged. From memory there on the passenger side of the firewall.

I forgot to mention, the engine is a 4AFE.

The solonoid, is that the nippon denso silver looking thing in the front fuse box, i thought that might have been a relay.

    Thanks all

I think i have the problem, it looks like it might have been the vaccume solonoid on the firewall on the passengers side i sprayed it with some silicone spray to loosen it up for now. If it keeps screwing up ill buy another one.

At least i know what it is now.

    Cheers
