It will work, & will come with an external ignitor to run the multi coils. Plenty of people on here are using them.
P.S. I think microtechs are shit, but that's not what this thread's about...![]()
Has anyone used a MT8 Microtech on a 4agz(t)e before?
I am in the process of setting up a 4agte. I have a wiring loom for a MT8 for a 4agze but before i purchase a MT8,
I want to know if the MT8 works fine with this kind of setup reason I asked is, I read up that the MT8 runs a single coil operation and not the GZE dual coil-pack setup is this true?
I seen a few 4agte setups running MT8's would like to know any feedback about it or experiences.
BTW I have a ae101 4agze.
Thanks.

yeh man ive seen a few with them and i had a 4agze with a ltx8 wich is pretty much the same (laptop top interface and built in ignitior instead) and i was happy but dont expect it to do much, there pretty basic.
i dont have a funny or cool signature.
Just to clarify also, you can't buy MT8s or LTX8s anymore, there's only LT8, 10 or 12 which require an X4 or 6 ignition module.
Chances are a new loom will also be required.
Would the MT8 be better then the standard GZE ECU running a turbo setup though?
Yeah bigworm I have seen a few for sale 2nd hand just curious on them.
MT8 is only programmabl via the hand controller... and is a little old now.
It will be better than the stock computer... but only a bit
I would recommend an LT8 or LT10s
...... butt scratcher?!
I am guessing the MT8 Warning harness will be different to the LT8?
Harness would probably be the same.... but the LT8 has been discontinued, and is no longer available. You only option in the Microtech range is an LT10s.Originally Posted by turbo_gze
Not sure, but were you the person I spoke to on the phone a while back regarding this?
Yeah but dont they still remap LT8's? I know they dont do MT8's anymore, apparently Microtech were losing sales due to people buying 2nd hand ECU's and just remapping them to what they needed instead of buying brand new ones.
Nah it wasnt me who you spoke to.
As far as I know remapping an LT8 shouldn't be a problem. From what I've heard they're basically an LT10s minus 2 auxillary inputs & outputs. I've seen remapped LT8s's booting up displaying LT10s as their model so I'd presume they share the same firmware and largely the same componentry.
Your best bet is probably the Microtech forum as theres a few 4AG specific posts there discussing both single and multi coil options and what must be done.
