Also where can you check you own rep power if it isn't on the post?

Reputation is on the User CP but I can't find Rep power.

And what do the green boxes mean where the rep power was?

(edit) Also appears that Members can see who cast reputation on them and non-members (or at least Evil Bert) can't

is that reputatiuon based club member based.

Yes your rep power is how much a vote by you changes another users rep. If you have 4 rep power and vote positively for another person then they gain 4 rep.

I'll take a look at where users can see rep power.

The green box was there befoer as well, it's just a rough indicator of user reputation. If you hover your mouse pointer over it you'll get one of the phrases from the list I posted the pic of.

Users with less than 10 posts have no rep power so their votes make no change to other people.

I believe I set things up so that club members and privelliged users can see who gave them cred. The aim was to stop people being vindictive when they join. If you aren't a club member you'll have to get up to 40 cred before you see who gives you cred.

Privelliged users is just the name for the group I setup that normal forum members promote into when they get 40 cred.

Cool I've written up a bit of a run down on how reputation works and added it to the site FAQ.

I'll get details on how the rep power increases posted in this thread later.

That's strage. When I clcik on the link it takes me straight to the content for the General forum usage section of the FAQ.

If you manually go to the FAQ then click on general forum usage do you see all of the reputation topics?

I'm not trying to be rude Simon but is there a reason you'd want to see the rep power? It really shouldn't make any difference to what you do on the forum if you have high or low rep power voting should be done the same way.

I just expect it to end up like post count and forum junky status and things, losers working towards improving a stat that is displayed about their forum login because they think it is an indication of the person. I just don't see a benefit to having rep power displayed I guess.

No offence taken Josh... I'm looking at using Vbulliten for another forum that I want to start (non car related) and am trying to get an idea of how rep power is gained against, Weather it is post count related or if there are other factors there. Without seeing what you guys see it is some what hard to work out, but so far the reputation at least is a good thing for what I'm looking for.

Once you get a rep power that is a bit higher (e.g. 10) can you select to give +ve / -ve rep with a lower power?
e.g. I have rep power 10 and want to give someone -ve rep for posting something stupid but I don't want to totally smash them with -10 points of rep, can I select to give them only -1 or -2 points of rep?

Cool Simon. If that's what you're after I have attached a pic of the current settings for rep power increase. Obviously we'll be tweaking these based on what posts we choose to count etc.

There is also a reasonable explanation in the manual for Vbulletin at Vbulletin Manual.

No as far as I know you can't. Take a look at how rep power increases though and you'll see that it will take a long time for you to get 10 rep power.
