Not a problem. It's been taking me a while to get my head around it as well. If you have any specific questions about the setup you're thinking of doing feel free to PM or email me about them.

Ooh ok so based on stats from the old forum I would have 3 pushing to 4 based on my post count and another 2 pushing 3 points based on my register date plus the 1 point default.
So I would have 6 points now and 8 points later on in the year once I busted over 2,000 posts and 3 years since registered.

Works OK I suppose so long as the post whores don't go nuts just to get more rep power.

    For sure.

We'll have to tweak the increase for posts since we'll only be counting a percentage of total posts, based on the poll I put up about what posts are worth counting.

Can you remove posts in the Non-Car Talk section from going to the post count towards more rep points? (I think that makes sense)

EDIT: Just saw this post above.. Maybe I should have searched ...

Also, is there anything to stop someone from giving you a -ve purely because you gave them a -ve?

Does this have the potential to cause bitching?

The concept looks awesome, but I think only time will tell how the greater ToyMods community will act when in a small position of power.

Also 10 instances a day might be too many. Maybe think about lowering that.
With 10 a day and the same person every 15, means that you can get 3-4 a week from one person.
I can see this being abused.

But I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

In theory they would probably have cooled off in a few days, and if they have to give feeback to 14 other people in a pissed mood chances are they will give -ve feedback and then all the people who he gave it to give it back revoking alot of his (her) prevliges. I don't see it being abused for long...

EDIT: I also think you need to have certain prevlages to see who gave you the vote as well as in my USER CP I can see who + a comment, but in my alter ego login that is non toymods there isn't.

2nd Edit: in theory if you can't give the same person -ve vote (and you are not told how many other votes you need to hand out before hitting for a second time) for 15 turns you would be hitting ranom users which means to hit some one 3 times they would need to randomly hit 30 people, if some of those people are club members (or get to the same privledge level) and can see someone has hit them without giving a reason they would hit back until first person can vote but has no power in that vote. I think.

Yep there is potential for abusing the process. The main reason why it shouldn't happen is that anyone found abusing the system will loose at least 10 reputation the first time and if they are caught again will go back to 0 rep. This means that if they aren't a member of the club they will no longer be able to post in the classifieds or have avatars or have their voting work at all.

Admins can run a report easily to see who is voting rep for who and it shouldn't be too hard to pick up dodgy operators.
