HID's should be used in specific HID housings, if you can find any for an MX83 go for it. If you can't, be considerate to other road users and forget the idea. HID's in a non-HID housing are a bad idea.

Hi guys
Just wondering if anyone has ever used HIDs in their Mx83?
Im after a brighter lighting option rather than using a brighter globe (but if someone has used a really good, bight globe tell me anyway)
Do you need Projector-style lights (e.g S14 Silvia) to use HID's?
Thanks
Josh

The lenses tend to spray the light everywhere instead of a focused beam.
I'm using a a set of 10000k china HID's in my car and the even though the stock headlights were meant to have them the light cutoff is pretty shitty. but if I was worried about light output I wouldn't have bought stupid high temp blue headlights. and they still beat the hacked up compliance shit they put in.
Go for say a 4300k kit if you want avoid unwanted attention. I got mine from http://www.jrtlighting.com/ for like $220 delivered.
