Classic Celica Club of Victoria Meet #18 – Sunday 1st June 2008.
Time: Meeting at 9am to leave by 9.30am sharp!
Date: Sunday 1st June 2008.
Place: Bunnings Warehouse Car Park, Cranbourne. Melways: Map 129, Ref J 10.
Welcome to the last event/cruise for the Classic Celica Club of Victoria before the winter!
The cruise route will be planned and finalized this weekend – stay tuned for more updates as they come to hand!
Of course as always, everyone and everyone is welcome! Celica or different, bring it along for a cruise!
Cruise Route and Details!
Well guys, the highly anticipated cruise route is now here! This is a long leisurely drive, plenty to take in and plenty of fun to be had! The roads are well made, traffic should be light, so it’ll make for a great cruise – just don’t go too fast or you’ll miss out on the scenic views.
The point of destination is Cranbourne, Victoria. Bunnings Warehouse Car Park, Cranbourne. Melways: Map 129, Ref J 10 is where we’ll be leaving from at 9.30am the morning of Sunday 1st July 2008. Be there by 9am to have a chat, toilet stop, fuel fill-up, or whatever you need to do.
There will be a “pre-meet meet” at Patterson Reserve in Hawthorn at 8am (to leave by 8.15am) for all the members on that side of town to cruise to Cranbourne together. There is a big car-park along Auburn Road, with plenty of on-street parking. We won’t be too far away, you won’t miss us! This can be found at Map 59, Reference E 4 in your Melways. Be assured we’ll be leaving here at 8.15am, so don’t be late!
The cruise is only fairly short in comparison to come of the cruises of yesteryear, but it’ll still provide for a great day out! From Cranbourne it’s about 100km in length and should take us about 1 ¼ hours to reach our destination in Phillip Island. Here we’ll stop for a break, lunch, photo shoot and a chat. There is also an event going on at Phillip Island - PIARC (Phillip Island Automotive Racing Club) are holding a Group 5 Sprint Session. For those interested, it could provide to be a bit of fun! This is only an idea at this stage, but it does sound good. We’ll be crusing through Junction Village, Monomeith, Lang Lang, Grantville, Bass and San Remo on our way there. A suitable “rest-stop” will be selected from those.
An outline of the day is as follows.
For those coming to Hawthorn, we’ll see you there at 8am! We’ll be leaving to get to Cranbourne at 8.15am for a 9am arrival. From here, we’ll meet up with the rest of the crew and leave from Cranbourne at an estimated 9.30am. From here, we’ll cruise to Phillip Island. We’ll have a break half-way and we should arrive at Phillip Island with any luck by 11.30am. From here, with a photo shoot, chat and lunch should take us to 1pm. Depending on weather and interest; we could make our way to the Race Circuit to check out the goings on there. I’d anticipate we’d leave the Island at 3pm to be back in Cranbourne by 4pm.

I'll be keen for this if I can get my car running smoothly and get my interior close to done.

Other cars are always welcome on the CCCVic Cruises...Originally Posted by SilverRA23

Pulse - if you hadn't have cut up the other TA22, you could have brought that! Just bring it along, in pieces, half complete, whatever! It can't be much less complete than when you brought it to the Extreme Machine Show!

Well I'm about to strip out the custom dash, and weld the original metal back in. If I've got that done then I'll just whack the instrument panel back in so that I can come and then modify it after. The engine is running like shit and I've got a leaking water pump as well but theyre first on the agenda to be fixed. I've got over a month to do it so it should be sweet.hopefully
Don't be a sook - just do it!
I got a water pump from Bursons the other day (to replace my supercharger sounding one with hectik bearing noises) for about $51.00. Repco, SuperCrap Auto and similar all quoted over $100. Got it from Bursons in Richmond if you are interested.
Good luck in getting it done, hope it comes together for you!
