Bad vibrations are usually caused by the tailshaft. Stuffed uni or centre bearing would be my guess.
hey everyone, im in need of some help to diagnose my cars problem..i get a loud whining sound coming from underneath the car and a full vibrate happening when im picking up speed like 40kmh+ i baught the car with no engine or box and fitted a 1jz-r154 setup i got a hold of the owner (a mate) and asked if the diff was stuffed and ever whined and he said it never did so its got me thinking its the tailshaft but can that cause full vibration and a fairly loudish whine?? oh and it does it even rolling in neutral if that makes a difference any help would be good

I'll second that, I've had the same symptoms ( different car) and it turned out that the rear uni joint had basically fallen apart. When I took it out I think I found a couple of needle rollers that hadn't flown out yet!!Originally Posted by Norbie
