hey guys, from what your gathering i assuming u can run more boost with the stock ECU? thats what i thought but i've been told otherwize
Yep,
I am running a '14 and water to air setup. Was actually around 18-19psi with the 168mm crank pulley and 120mm sc pulley. I have gone back to a stock (150mm) crank at the moment and its nice on 15psi, just did 150rwhp on a non-optimal tune. I wouldn't mind trying a 160mm pulley though...still got stock exhaust too.
Cheers, Nick

Now flogg'n the SC14 @ 18psi....

chris yes a search indicates you can run up to about 14psi before the stock injectors are at max duty cycle, also the stock ecu seems to have some sort of boost/fuel cut at 14psi, below that you should be fine though, but from (a guess) anything over 10psi you may want to look at something better than the stock cooler (personal opinion)

yeah stock i/c is rubbish well maybee not rubbish but where its located the heat from the engine bay just soaks on stock boost i was seeing 60deg c cant imagine what it would be like with 14psi
yeah, you need a cooler solution. AFAIK how much boost you can run depends on what managment you've got. I've seen a 4A GTE running 20 pounds on a G-Limited ECU...I imagine the ratios were shite, but it was running and making heaps of power...

Edit: I might have a GTi-R cooler with piping to suit AW11 soon...if anyone wants it. I'm looking at going to a boot-install air-to-air and SC14...
