does it flare out? that is, does RPM rise without the increase you would expect in speed?
do you have a tacho?
is it just a 3 speed auto?
i doubt retuning would change it, it sounds gearbag related, not engine related.
best of luck
that is the problem. the rpm doesnt jump instead it does rev smoothlyOriginally Posted by Vios-GT_07

I'd also be inlicned to find out why ther'es that big dip on the dyno chart around 5000rpm
Edit: so that would bring my vote under looking at tuning and not just the hardware
do you have a tacho? <-- yes
is it just a 3 speed auto? <--- no, 4 speed auto
well whats it pulll like in 4th gear?
oh, and
you lose when you are beaten in a drag race
loose is when you don;t do somethign up tight enough, here is an example
"i lost the race because my wheelnuts were loose"
My vote's for tune too; as Jin said, that dip at 5k is concerning, and the a/f ratio takes a dive at that point too. Also that it makes peak power just before that (4.5k), then the power curve gets giggity and doesn't get higher later in the rev range. Knock sensor perhaps? If the tune is dodgy, maybe timing, too much perhaps? From the way that graph starts i'd expect peak torque around 5k rpm, and to keep climbing to peak power around 6k or more?Originally Posted by Jin~Jah
Something is killing power, ignition breaking down perhaps? 0.9 bar isn't excessive boost, spark plug gaps or heat range? There's more power in there once you get this issue sorted.
Edit: Obviously it's a chassis dyno and this is the power at the wheels, so it's only confirming what he's feeling seat of the pants, but because the a/f ratio dips and full boost arrives at the same time as that dip in power, then the power is shaky above that, is why i'm saying tune.

another possibility to support the tune issue
in lower gears, the engine will spend less time in the "bad tune" area, and just whip past it. in higher gears it will progress through this area more slowly, and cause more problems.
retune and see
