The supercharger is driven by a belt so thats what stops it, im sure along the lines somewhere you could adapt a BOV (all you would need) its only compressed air not even emissions from the exhaust.

I don't know if a supercharger would actually turn the turbo. I'm no science whizz, but I thought the superchargers/turbos only compress the air, the don't actually make it move fast like the exhaust does as it comes out the exhaust ports.
Why would there be no exhaust im still exploding a fuel :S

Your confusing the method of condensing the air, theres two different methods: Cooling it, or Forcing as much as you can into a certain spot as fast as you can (Pound per Square Inch)
so basicly your accelerating the air to be able to put more in faster

    ahhh,

so the belt stops movement of air where there is a pressure difference?

how will you get the car engineered if the BOV is venting emissions from the exhaust?

i wonder if you could feed the external wastegate gasses from the turbo back through where you a feeding the supercharger into? you might get more gains by doing this? you reckon?

Brett I think you could be confused
The rate of air given off by the supercharger is purely dictated by the RPM so in low RPM there is low boost but in high RPM there is huge boost. you could almost have a BOV on the plenum to relax manifold pressure. I think :S turbo guys please help

No doubt, but then what was the point of doing that? Blow off valve, your trying to reduce overboost

I THINK, that Radar is trying to get rid of heat from the system, mistakenly believing that the exhaust gas drining the turbo is what heats up the intake charge coming out of a Turbo ...... He is forgeting that any substance being compressed will heat up. . the air coming out of the Supercharger will be about the same heat as that coming out of the turbos compressor..

A Turbo is a Supercharger. just driven a different way. the correct name for the device is actually a Turbo Supercharger.

I think this is radars point, though I am not sure........ My head is starting to hurt, and I am going to have a good lie down

so if you get the air accelerating really fast via feeding the supercharger into the turbo, you will be able to put more air into the engine??

Not at all, im trying to push the air faster, the heat thing was just a goodie
I saw a Lancia delta s4 on youtube last night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRt0e...eature=related
just lisitn to this thing go 1.8 twincharged

    ahh,

so making the air go faster is far more important than making boost (or overboost?)

this is the dumbest thread ive read in a week...

please go back to wiki and read the basics of how a turbo works, what compressed air does and why its hot, why an exhaust turbine doesnt care thet your supercharger can make x psi, and then search here for prior threads on twin charging.

once armed with a few clues, please rethink this thread and the direction youre going

Well thats what im doing making boost, im making it go faster into a spot, im pushing more into there ( my brain hurts now that im starting to get confused)
