ive heard of people running RA40 diffs in the AE86.
whether AE86=xE7x is something you will have to find out
Hi all, just trying to find out how close a RA40 diff would bolt up to a KE70 or AE71 if at all, keeping in mind that the width of the diff is of no concern to me and it will not be a street driven car. Also if a RA40 diff wont fit at all is there another that will.
Thanks

I have a ra40 diff in my ae71,
changing the shocker mount is the only real mod needed.
theres a guide on here somewhere explaining everything. You would also be after a model with a sway bar because not all of them came with them.
Also easy brake upgrade with st141 discs.
and FYI,
RA60 diffs are identical to the RA40 diff. its just that the RA60 diffs all have sway bar mounts
hello
from memory the top arm mounts are 10-20 mm further out on the ra40 diff which may mean it will hit the chassis rails on full compression without the bumpstops in place. just double check it first as i may be wrong.
cheers

Awsome top work people, whell i guess i have to get cracking on the new race car. If its only minor stuff like that then should be easy as for my diff guy to do, hilux diff is getting converted at the mo for my RA40 so hopefully it will fit my 09 car. hilux had to be done as the little t series was all good @ 180kw but as soon as we bumped up the power to 220kw i was stripping pinion wheels every time i got on the track... gota love it!
