How close are the mounts?
Can I use the stock T50 mounts to get a W58 into an AE86? Is there any company that sells the mounts for a W58 replacement?
Will it make a huge difference that Im using a 7A block?

Thanks for the link, but that doesn't help at all because you never explained what it was.
You just said it was made. We dont know whether its all custom or part was use from the stock chassis.

You still haven't given any explanation. Thats why I still dont understand.
Is that a stock KE70 crossmember with a stock w50 mount bolted on? What exactly am I looking at?
w58 wont fit onto the t50-ae86 crossmember. gearbox mount is completely different, crossmember would need to be spaced down heaps.
i used a crossmember off a mx83 cressida, chopped the ends off and replaced them with some right angle steel (50x50) with the sprinter bolt holes drilled into them.
That sounds more like it. I was thinking the same type of thing. Get a stock Supra crossmember, cut off the sides and weld some plates so I could drill holes for the stock mounting location. Just wasn't sure if I needed right angles to make up for height or anything. Could you post some pictures of what you have?Originally Posted by cri_ag
As to the picture in that link above. Im guessing thats also some sort of custom crossmember. But why you'd make a crossmember that chews up your rubber mounts because its not spaced properly is beyond me though.
Just wanted to share a picture I found from here: http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/bo...howtopic=10103
Im going to try and duplicate this exact bar because it seems the easiest to duplicate.

You can use a AE71 Auto mount, bolts up perfect cost $20 thats what i'm using
I get a headache sometiems on these internet forums. Explain, please! Nobody will ban you for using more than one line. Sorry for the frustration, but you are using a AE71 auto mount on what?! what crossmember, what transmission, what chassis?
From the one liner it seems your using an AE71 automatic tranmission mount bolted to the W5x transmission, mounted on the stock crossmember, in an AE71 chassis. Is that what your saying?
Sorry for the confusion
AE71 auto mount, AE71 auto xmember, W58 trans, in an AE71. it all bolts straight up, this should be the exact same for the AE86
No hassle
Thanks alot. + Rep for you. Will try it out.
What is the AE71 btw? In the US we only got the KE7x and TE7x. Is this the same?
its a 4ac 1.6lt powered KE7* I don't know what they released the TE7*'s with over there, but if you can find an auto rwd corolla with a 4ac motor you should be right.
ae86 and ae71 transmission x-members are different
bolt spacing on the floor pan is different
There is the SR5 auto tranny crossmember and mount that fits the AE86 & 4AC.
It should give the same effect. I got one reply on club4ag by neil85ae86 and he told me he's been told the same thing about the SR5 auto components, but just hasn't gotten around to trying it yet.
