Default Help! mx83 instrument cluster wiring vs JZX81 digital cluster

Hi all im in the process of swapping my MX83 analogue cluster to a JZX81 digital cluster.
Does anyone have any lists of wires for these clusters? the jzx81 cluster i have is almost all labelled as is the mx83. There are just some wires im not sure of where they go.

Does anyone have any diagrams or lists from when they have done this conversion?
or if i ask for pin numbers would someone be able to help me? (i had a 302 carby motor in an ma61 so im electronically challanged)

the main ones im struggling with on the mx83 dash are

from the back of the cluster LEFT TO RIGHT as you look at it from the back.

    PLUG 1 (12 pin) PLUG2 (10 pin) PLUG3 (transmission) PLUG 4 (10 pin)

    Plug 1 - pin 11 and 12

    Plug 2 - pin 4, 8, 9, 10.

    Plug 3 - pin 10 and 12

    Plug 4 - pin 1, 2, 3, 4

i "think" these generally relate to tacho, speedo, temp and fuel with maybe illum and earths/ ign power? as i have found all the warning lamps

    thanks

I know you need a digital fuel sender for the tank if you want your fuel guage to work

why dont you run the analogue cluster?

i prefer it instead of the speedo reading

    0, 22, 48, 75, 120

FYI; i put a MX83 a340e speedo drive in the aristo box and run a cable

yeah i heard about the fuel sender thanks mate.

I actually like the digital dash's. And it has 276000km less than my analogue one does! plus the 7m tacho wont work with the 2j without a booster.

brett do ytou have any info about the pins on the plugs?

Have a search, I posted a link to the digital dash pinouts a few months back.

    Hey,

i guess uve probably done it by now but anyway here you go.
i did this with a mark ii so unsure if the signals are the same. should be

    Plug 1 - pin 11-temp and 12(temp resistor maybe)
    Plug 2 - pin 4-earth, 8(light signal +ve?), 9(earth), 10(nothing)
    Plug 3 - pin 10(unsure) and 12(unsure)
    Plug 4 - pin 1-ignition +ve, 2(sender signal), 3-earth, 4(not important)

I changed from digital to analog which wasn't that difficult.
    cheers.
