Ibzzzz, Its good to see you around mate!
Water used to get into my boot in the top left corner. Would run down the length of the window, down into the channel where water is supposed to run, but instead of falling off the back of the car, it was getting in along that channel. I reckon sitting in the boot wouldnt be a bad idea. But with your fuel pump and surge, you may get a wee bit high

I had a leaking boot rubber in my ra40 (hatch) same deal with me, new rubber didn't fix the
leak, and did the same as smokey228, so I ran a thin bead of black silicon along the sides
and top corners under the rubber. still leaked but not as much, then I took the hinges off and
ground half a mm off them (just the top of the hinge) and that fixed it for good.
Edit, oops .. what i ground off was surface rust between the hinge and hatch.
Check the tail lights aren't leaking, I had trouble with them on my ta22s
I am the sun
Tali lights and was there any points under the boot rubber that had rusted through as no boot rubber will stop that, also have you still got the little rubber grommet that sits where the original jack sits? might be coming up into the boot rather than dropping down, which with all this weather lately is easy to do just driving around..
cheers Nath

I'd suggest the window also. Prime rust loacation.

whats up ibz's babes? been quiet around here with no rotor bashing![]()
Us Celica owners are so lucky with all the possible water entry locations. Gotta love 70's cars and rust.

I'd start looking at your rear window. My old 23 used to leak water in through the back window, onto the parcel shelf, then drip in into the boot
