my car wast stolen and found to be uneconomical to repair.
I want to know, first off it was not a 'statutory' write off so i know it can be re-registered but does anyone know if i will have to go through regency?
second if i do have to go through regency do you have to have a key to start the car, i changed mine to push buttons.
any info appreciated

You basically have to bring it back to a road worthy condition and get it engineered or something similer to re reg it, and your insurence company won't like it either!
Just read SA the above is Vic, not sure of any differences
cheers, for that info. dont think the steering lock is a deterant didnt stop my 3 cars from gettin nicked, maybe a high voltage shock to the ignition barrel would be a better deterrant

Rip,
The car will have to go in for a full road-worthy. They may even request any reciepts for parts and repairs.
The question is not if steering locks work, it is a matter of law that it has one.
If you have any questions, Transport SA are the ones with the specific answers.
