so noone ever had a problem like this with electronic boost controllers? input would be much appreciated
hey guys
i have a GZ20 soarer with a 1ggte...
i bought it with a Hybrid dual stage boost controller but it doesnt work... i noticed on the solenoid in the engine bay that only the high side is connected but even if u adjust the knob on the high side settings it does nothing...
the solenoid also makes a loud ticking noise which changes if you adjust the knobs..
the lights on the controller light up as it would appear there workin but the boost pressure doesnt change at all...
if u guys can help in any way it would be much appreciated...

the solenoid ticking is good, means its working, as you adjust the knob the solenoid will pulse more/less. Due to teh solenoid working and no change in boost level i would say its your plumbing being incorrect.
Check the instructions for the controller redo the plumbing on the turbos.

yeh thats sounds right..... but i dont have any instructions with it... its just installed....
can anyone tell me how it is supposed to be hooked up correstly? i'll get some picks tomoz but dunno if u'll be able to see it in the foto coz its pretty crowded in there lol...
theres lots of info on here about how to hook up any boost controller to twin turbos. do a quick search and ull find a nice diagram which will tell you what goes where.
Like you say it will be crowded so a diagram will be clear comparison for you to check your piping agains.

same as any EBC on a toyota twin setup i'd imagine.. vacuum hose from boost source on both turbo's joined with a tpiece, then plumbed into inlet on EBC solenoid.... then plumbed out the outlet, tpieced again and split into both actuator hoses...

hey guys, fixed it today...
turns out the compressor outlet on one turbo was connected to the wastegate of the other turbo... so i just switched the boost pipes around n went for a boot... i think it even goes better on the standard boost rather than before.... but much better on 1bar lol
