You're actually probably better off getting a feel for it on street tyres, sure it may take more throttle control, but you said you need practice on that anyway, and besides, the speeds will be lower into the kitty litter so hopefully less damage to paintwork?

I feel your pain - exchanging contracts tomorrow with 6 week settlement and we're currently just short of cash required to complete. We're fine on repayments but we're squeezing under an LVR ratio to save ~$30k in mortgage insurance. Car needs new brakes, may not get them.
