He hasnt proven it to me... the computer he is running cannot compensate for boost properly, and therefore will turn his motor into a grenade. Of course if he has a piggyback, thats a different story, but just an NA ECU on its own will not work properly. Sorry if I sound arrogant, but as an electrical engineer specialising in automatic control software programming... it just doesnt work like that.

yeah i am having the same opinion as yours. anyway, we forget about his setup. now back to my engine.. :-)
by the way, i've found out that my spark plug gap is more narrow than the stock(0.044inch=1.1mm) gap. what will happen if gap is too narrow? could that be the cause of my missfiring at higher RPM?

Depends how good your spark is. Often people shorten their gaps to fix a weak spark, which is the wrong way to do it, but it works. What coil are you using, and are you using the points setup??

0.8mm should be starting point for spark plug gap. then increase until you get misfire?

In answer to the original question CT26A's have been used very sucessfully as upgrades on 3T-GTE's before.

I'd suggest that getting a decent tune would be the best place for you to start on sorting this thing out. Yes a good tune will involve not running a fixed timing advance, that is just crazy talk.

i'm using NGK BPR7ES and all of them are brand new. on the coil wise, i'm using standard toyota coil and it is electronic VR system, not point. right now i just tap the RPM signal from the negative side of the coil and fed it to MS2.

You could use the best igniter possible but if your timing is at 20deg all the time it will not work well at all with a turbo engine.

take the whole signal to the MS and let the ECU take care of the spark control. You wont need an ignition module if you have the V3.0 megasquirt 2 board. The standard Toyota coil wont be much chop either... look at something with a bit more zap to keep away misfires, then you can go for larger spark gaps and give yourself a better burn. Also, iridium plugs would be another good upgrade.
