Hi all, can anyone tell me if there is any gains to using a 2j mapsensor on a 1j. also would it be harmful to the 1j engine running 2j mapsensor??
cheers

ok Thanks guys, did a search and found the post on mapsensors.
i have another question now. what can i replace my map sensor with to over come boost cut without using an aftermarket ecu?
Have a search for "fuel cut defender"
Its fuel cut you experience, not boost cut or ignition cut.

Yep, lots of products available which do what you want. No need to touch the MAP sensor.
I actually have a spare TRL VFCC if you're interested. No longer need it as I've converted to standalone management.

ok how much posted to melb. its it ready to plug in?
Also any body used jaycars fuel cut defender if so is it any good?
Have heard ok things bout the jaycar fcd, downside is that you cant set the voltage clamp.
From memory the jaycar unit clamps voltage at 3.9 v
so is that a bad thing for a 1jz. i would make it run to lean will it?
All depends on what boost you intend to run. The thread on map sensors has a table with boost and associated voltage. Any thing over say 15psi i would want a clamp of 4-4.1 to be safe. As with any fcd or ecu mods its always a good idea to throw it on a dyno and check the afr's.
