no such thing as an auto st205.
the ST215 caldina gtfour (4th gen 3sgte) came out with an auto box. In most instances like this you have to ground the neutral wire for the engine to start.
Hi. Can anyone tell me if the auto ecu on a gen 3 3sgte from an st205 gt4 will allow the engine to run without trans attached? Any foreseeable problems eg, rev limiter, not starting due to thinking the auto, even though not attached is in gear. Any information would be great. Search was not of much use.

So an auto ecu caldina setup would be fine? No probs with rev limiting? anything else anyone can think of?
Thanks again
Andrew
what are you using it for?
Rwd ae86. Yes, I am a fabricator. lol
We run into the opposite problem with a car at work.
Someone had transplanted a 3SGTE into and automatic Curren/Celica, 2wd one,
and wanted us to wire up a standard ECU to run the engine and trans,
and we found there was no 3SGTE Auto's made,
in celica's Mr2's or anything we found.
This was quite a while ago now, before the Caldina GTT's etc were popular as imports.

Hmm, that is interesting. I have heard that it should work, the auto ecu should run the engine properly but need more info.
