If you don't get the answer you need in time, it is highly likely I have the correct tap at home. Plus old thermo switches.
You're very welcome to borrow it if required.
I just want to know the thread size for the THERMOSWITCH that sits in the water outlet on the back of a 4AGE head. Can't remember if it is the brown or green plugged one, but you can easily check with a multimeter. At room temp there should be 0 ohms between the two pins of the thermoswitch.
I want to use one of the ones I have kicking around to control my thermos, and I'm hoping to buy the tap to make the required hole before close of business today. So any help would be appreciated. And of course I have none nearby to measure myself.
Thanks
Hen
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.

M16x1.5 im pretty sure.
But im pretty sure those are only the ECU temp sensors. The Thermoswitch (for fans) is in the external thermostat housing, and the RWD engines didnt have thermoswitches.

Yeah that thought had crossed my mind after posting... I'm pretty sure one of the ones on the back of the head is a thermoswitch too (at least it is a short circuit when cold). But I'll look into the one in the thermo housing. It's got a smaller thread and I think I might have the right tap for that at home.Originally Posted by takai
I'm using an AE82 water outlet at the rear of the head too.

The one in the thermohousing is M16x1.5
I think the ones at the back of the head might be M14, since i had to get a brass adaptor from my 3/8BPT Haltech sensor.

Just a quick straightener. I was smoking too much crack on Friday. The two sensors on the back of the head are temp sensors.
As Takai suggested, the thermoswitch is in the thermostat housing and does have a M16 by 1.5 thread. I took the arvo off on Friday and sorted that all out, but then couldn't find a bloody plug to suit my thermoswitch. So still had no fan for the weekend's trip.
