If its a V8 box, its an A341E.
I'm yet to see an A340E on the back of a 1UZ.

A341E will have a 30-41LE plate on it, A340E will have a 30-40LE plate on it.

oh, ok. i just saw somewhere that only the crowns had a341e's or something like that.

i got the box separate from the motor, but it' supposed to be a v8 one, it's bolted on anyhow.

so, what does the shift kitting involve, other than me pulling the farkin motor out again to get the farkin box off!(i'm not crawlin under there to lift the bastard out- been there, not doin it again!)

is it woth getting a higher stall torque convertor? just so the commodore loser's quiver in there pants when i flog them from the lights

i'm gonna probly make my own headers if i can't get the standards to fit. just to make sure, the runner pairs should be: 1 7, 3 5, 2 8, 4 6?

Shift kitting... you mean valve body changes, or connecting up a so-called 'manual controller?'

Neither requires removal of the box. Manual controller is wiring only, while changing the valve body requires removing the pan. It is at this moment that you will appreciate Toyota auto's actually having the obvious inclusion of a drain plug, *unlike certain inferior transmissions.*

i just spotted a "perfect power smart tuner SMT6" on ebay. does anyone know whether this is capable of running an auto 1UZ?

i'm guessing no, cuz it's $30 atm, but if anyone knows otherwise or has experience with one of these tell me please.

The way I read it, you asked if it was capable of running the auto.

If you are asking if the SMT6 is compatible with the stock ecu, then yes, it is.
There are a couple of guys on soarercentral who have installed them.
    No real results yet though.
Retail was around $750ish I think?

Its the first step. Increase the air in, then the air out.
    So do the BFI.

CoronaC, The Supercharger as mentioned earlier is at http://rushimports.com.au/index.php?...ba4cf60a31b318

Yeah maybe thats why it didnt work , i found the link to it since i posted that though.

Has anyone tried those Jaycar 'Digital Fuel Adjuster's and Hand Controllers on a 1UZ before? If you have what are they like, any good results from them? (both power or eco wise)
Worth it in the end, or save the money and spend it on something else?

Im thinking about having a go but im not to crash hot on making those electro gizmo kits (asuming they arnt prebuilt, which im guessing there not)
Does it come with at least basic instructions on how to wire up to your car?
Is it fairly easy to use the hand controller to tune or is it a bastard of a job?

Only costs around $160 for the Fuel adjuster, hand controller and connection cable + what ever else it will cost for install, so say $180-200 total, I think its worth a try if other people have gotten good results from them. Just want to find out a bit about them first.

    Cheers
    Chris

i was gonna get one of these until cruzida pointed out that they won't work on the common nonvvti 1uz, because the adjuster won't work with the early 1uz's type of AFM

also, that $160 is a kit, you have to put the ciruit board and everything in
