As they say in the book, assembly is the reverse of dismantling, but slower cos you forgot where all the bits are

LOL, YES THEY BLOODY DO! Ha ha ha. ALL those cars get payed out... by me! I even OWN an AE86 with rear drums and I pay myself out for it. Rear drum brakes are SOO crappy! Crappy crappy horrid brakes.

Are those AE82s N/A or turbo? It takes a lot to set those cars up properly. And I'm just saying, there are much better options... like buying an AE111 S/C or 20v.

Not all FWDs are crap. My DC2 is pretty good, but I wouldn't want any more power otherwise it would have great trouble with both torque steer, and cornering under power. All sorts of slippery traction problems.

Anyway, what side is the Excell's engine on, when looking at the engine bay from the front of the car? My mother's old one had engine on the right, gearbox on the left. My 92 Lancer had gearbox on the left, engine on the right. My Honda is the same, engine on right, gearbox on left. All the AE82 and AE92s I've seen have engine on the left, gearbox on the right.

torque steer, ... in an excel ... yep .... i cant imagine how you could resolve such a thing with a powerful motor in it if you where to be throwing it around corner's & doing alot of weight shifting....

There was an early (2nd shape?)Excel in Zoom some time back with a 4G63 VR4 motor in it. He was using the stock gearbox which bolted straight up to it. But he had to make custom driveshafts for it as the 4G63 was too long to fit in the bay with the gearbox in it's stock location. After this early shape Hyundai went to their own motors. If you were going to swap into that shape, I think it would be an angle grinder and welder job no matter which motor you went with.
    Cheers, Ian
