    Default 2JZ-GTE VVTi compression specs

Its a long one, but does anyone have the factory specs for compression testing a VVTi 2JZ?

    Cheers

a tad more than a non vvti so say 165 psi per pot would be ok.

if you want to pay, I'll get mine tested for comparison (60K kms)

165-175 rings a bell from the UK supra forums.

There's a guy on there called Paul someone (I think), he's a 2jz-gte vvti guru, he'd be the guy to ask.

Unless you know that you have a particularly accurate compression gauge, i'd not be too concerned about the number readings, just the variation between cylinders (unless its wildly below spec of course )

    Results in:
    1) 157psi
    2) 152psi
    3) 160psi
    4) 155psi
    5) 153psi
    6) 145psi

A bit all over the place and slight down on number 6. Before the cams all cylinders were 160 or 165psi.

Apparently number 6 is the cylinder to let go so i'm going to look a little more closely at it.

    Cheers

interesting, a bit lower than I would have expected.
    years/kms on the engine?

may be due to cam duration, throttle closed-open, plugs in or out, or battery voltage also so its hard to say exactly if they are high or low.

no6 seems suspect but you would have to do a leakdown and wet vs dry test also to ba accurate

    cheers

cam specs and timing? the more overlap the less static comp it will make on the guage as the air has more time to escape.
