get rid of the whole thing. Bolt on flywheel with new bolts from toyota torqued to spec.
Get ready for the noob Q of the day =)
After dropping the auto off my AW11 in preparation to install a manual box, I found the auto "flywheel" had 2 metal plates with 8 holes (to match the bolt pattern), one on either side of it, as spacers/washers.
These aren't mentioned in the BGB at all. Are they to be reinstalled with a manual flywheel, or should one (or both) be left off?
Cheers,

the auto "flywheel" is actually called a flex plate. As Cuzzo has said, remove the whole lot, and install the correct manual tramsmission flywheel and 8 new toyota or ARP flywheel bolts. You'll also need 6 clutch cover bolts as well.

Thanks mate,
Got the new bolts and MT flywheel together all ready to go. I'll bin the spacer/washers off with the rest of the AT gear then.
Edit: Thanx Psycho - I was aware of that (although I would have used 'drive plate' as per BGB) but to save confusion I used the commas instead![]()
