    Same here... a newbie... Count me in...

    I'm planning to go EFI.

    But as an option;
    if it is a blow-through, can we view it the easy way, or even illustrated?
    I have read that the blow-through has been done successfully and was powerful.
    I just want to see how the webbers were modified.

    hey , i have an 18RG bored to 2.2 , 6.5mm longer stroke by stroking the crank and 16R rods and it has carby's it does not seem to suck arse or blow goats, only flames out the exhaust. it seems to work quite well but i don't make a big thing about , so it can be done i'm proof of that

    Yup, and you havent got very good control on your fuelling, which is why it blows fire out the exhaust. Which means, your not getting the efficiency, and therefore not the power you should. Carby turbo 'works', but not very well. Early EFI systems sucked more though, which is why carby turbo was popular in the 80s.

    Cliff, your setup made sense when you built it (some time ago I believe) but things are different today. Aftermarket EFI systems are quite advanced, well understood, and cheap; in fact you can buy a decent ECU for less than the price of a pair of DCOE Webers. There's no doubt EFI is the way to go today, although I might have gone a different way 10 years ago.

    hey norbie, thanks for your respect, i do respect what you and others do even if i don't have alot to say from time to time but i do see and i do take in alot of what i see in peoples work..i just like to show there are two sides of a coin and you can do almost anything when you put your mind to it. i built this HKS kitted 18RG because, many told me it could not be done,so that was my push. you know me i but alot of these guys don't, but i seem to be turning up all over these forums from time to time. thanks for the tips

    As I said, early EFI systems were shithouse (not to mention expensive), so yeah, back then carby turbo didnt suck arse or blow goats... but times have changed. Plus with the reduced fuel usage that EFI offers, you can afford to run the bugger, and greenies dont jump down your throat quite as quick or as far.

    Respect for having done what you did... but to do it these days, as Norbs stated, its cheaper, easier and better with EFI.
