    Default ST165 VS ST185 W2A intercoolers

Is there any differences in sizes? How about flow?

Im looking at using one for my mr2 instead of sidemount intercoolers.

The ST165 cooler is a hell of a lot smaller.

I have no idea about flow or efficiency though. Maybe some of the alltrac forums around the place will have some info on it.

Have you thought of converting the stock A2A into a W2A?
I dont think it'd cost that much for a radiator person to braize some aluminium baffled top/bottom tanks and a couple of barbs.
then you need only grab some tubing and a front radiator

What can I say? I've been considering something like that for my ae82, and you're a convenient guinea pig

There are some knock offs of the spearco design water to airs available on ebay at the moment that I imagine would be far more useful than the St165 cooler.

As long as it's water tight and air tight that has to be better than the ST165 cooler. It would also be convenient to mount above the gearbox if you went for a side feed intake manifold in the future.

If you are after a high performance IC I would stay away from the 185 model,The only reason I keep mine is to keep the car original!

In terms of plug and play, the ST185 is the best bang for ya buck. If you can find someone who has a core and is willing to sell it. It flows quite well, and supports 400odd hp as quoted off the alltrac forusm (alltrac.net)

The ST165 intercoolers are quite small, and probably wouldn't suit your purpose.

The ST165 core is quite a bit smaller, and the heat exchanger is tiny. As others said, probably too small for what you are after.
