1jz Thermostat same as Startlet? Operating temp???

The after market one has a smaller openning then the standard one. In therory, if the TRD one is the same size as the standard one it would cool better because of less restiction (better flow).

Best way of testing that is to put both thermostat in boiling water on the stove and see how much they open.

thanks 1Jz-Lux thats what I was thinking, so with the temperature range my engine is running at is there a problem or is it within normal operating range?

98° is getting a little high but fine. When you get to 105° then you have to worry.

From memory i threw a 2jzge thermostat in my 1j and it works fine
82deg op i think and it never runs over 100deg

The starlet one at 92deg op sounds a bit high to me
