    Default Replacing altezza diff

What else fits, besides the factory 4.3:1 ?

I heard some 4x4's can work, but which ones?

you may want to be a bit more specific ie:

do you want a larger/stronger diff

    or

do you want some different ratios, and if so what ratio are you chasing

    or

are you chasing a better LSD than the factory offering?

    cheers

My experience is the reverse (I fitted an Altezza centre to an earlier live axle diff) but it seems the Altezza uses an F series diff, so parts from other F series diffs could well be interchangeable. There's plenty of info around here about the Fs.

However someone with more experience than me can confirm if the bits do swap over easily.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

I've seen the threads about the center sections being interchanged.
But there is no mention of the crown and pinion gears being swapped.
