1uz ITB's theory & advantages

Since my MA61 1UZ project cannot have FI and be legal, what does multiple throttles or ITB's going to do apart from looking real horn.
(I must admit I'm more into show than go, otherwise it would be a turbo 6)
Should the butterfly's be close to the head or long runners, ram tubes? or something like tuned length/equal length runners so throw some theory at me ladz.
I know one guy who has a Uz (Holden ute!) dragster with a GMC blower and 8 TB's stacked on top, what's the point of that?
BTW my project is for cruising and some show'n shines, stock would be a smart move but where is the fun and adventure in that.

www.v-eight.com for heaps of tech on uz's and a number of itb projects. No real need in a fi app but will increase response in na. 45's will be ok for a std engine. Ported/camed etc will need 48 plus. Efi hardware have doe work for adapting eds project. Vvti is different to std heads. People have adapted more std than vvt.

Thanks, at this time I'm not planning to open the engine as it is in very good nik and I also want to look at twin throttles ala Peewee (are you watching) I thought I could get a Ford oval twin butterfly TB from a rello but it turns out he didnt get it with his SC.

there is lots of theory about ITB throttle location, turmpet lenght etc, i reckon they are cool an that is enough reason, but on a stock engine there really isnt that much point.

josh young has an ITB 1UZFE in his drift AE86, makes about 200 RWKW, think it is a stock engine apart from that.

i can help you out with flanges if you are planning on making your own trumpets and using silvertop 20 valve throttles, dunno what else you would use, they will be more functional and cheap, something custom would look "nicer" but cost at least a grand or two to buy.

Car is too light for the minimum weight of a FI 4 L engine

There are a few packages off the shelf for the non vvti (assume thats yours). Some from NZ I know of, else there is the custom adaptor plate and whatever you like option. If its just for looks I'd go 8 45's with everything polished for bling.

but ed speaks truth, 18 months and counting for a conversion and the itb's and plenum have been the biggest headache

Thanks guy's for input, there is nothing like learning from experience, especially from someone else's, and this is what Toymods is all about, yeah. I had contemplated 8 TB's in a plenum with perspex top. fed by stock air box, stock AFM and adapt stock TPS & ICV and assorted vac plumbing all in the name of aural and visual wank factor.
I will attempt to answer your anticipated questions.
