    Default Custom Fuel Rail Fabrication

    Hey guys

Well im playing around with this damn car still, atleast till it sells, and thought i'll get on top of this fuel rail issue!! i am using these 800cc injectors...

And have had the locating rings made for the head, now im onto the rail itself. I've made a proto type up, had extrusion and had the holes machines (reamed) out to be a very tight (i say VERY tight as in very tight with lubrication!!) and im just wondering if there is meant to be a more precise way of housing the injectors, considering there will be 40-45psi of fuel pressure pushing its way out of wherever it can?! This is the rail so far...

as you can see the holes are very very precise (except for one that got a deep scratch through it) as they are hand reamed, not machine.

Would you say these style injectors are just meant to be a tight fit into the holes or do more housings need to be made and welded to the outside of the rail so to speak? Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers

You need to 'clamp' the fuel rail to the inlet manifold so that the injectors are 'trapped'.

You will need to ensure that you collars seal against the inlet manifold also, else you will bleed boost through them... Assuming forced inductino as you have 4x800cc injectors.

Yes i should have stated i have made the mounts and everything up so that the injectors are clamped in there, unable to move.

Im more concerned about the sealing of the o-rings in the rail itself....

    Cheers

they only need to be tight, not super teenage mutant ninja turtles tight.
aslong as the Orings seat will they will be fine, once its "clamped" it will all hold pretty tough

More pics of teh extrusion your using!!!
