Default LS1 Ignition Coils for use on v8 (Or 4 cyl)

I'm using LS1 ignition coils on my 1uz and just thought I might share a few pearls of wisdom with everyone here re the coils.

Firstly, they come with inbuilt ignition modules, so there's no need to buy seperate ignition modules to fire them!

Secondly, Here are the wiring diagrams for them, they are very simple.

they love big dwell figures and if your stupid enough to pull off a HT lead you will no all about it.

you can run a fairly big plug gap with them also (>1.1mm FI)

Yes, these are what we've bought for the megap00. Will be interesting to see how they cope with ~25psi

Can I ask how much you guys paid on average for your LS1 coils?
I just got a price $45 each (+ postage) in near new condition from a holden workshop.

But that doesn't seem too tempting when I've seen brand new Bosch HEC715's for $49 each on Ebay

EDIT: That price for the HEC715's seems really cheap, I've asked the seller if they can still get them at that price because I think the auction is a year old.

generally around $100 each depending on supplier.

remember the bosch coils only suit an external ingiter and if you use a bosch one it could add another $300 odd to the bill depending on what type you use (CDI is more like $1000+) so make sure you budget in for the entire ignition system rather than just coils.

Will the Bosch coils work with the 1JZ igniter? Seeing as it's a dumb igniter and dwell timings are set by the ECU.
Or are you saying that they may not get enough power/signal from the standard igniter?
