In my experience they will strip out just as easily.
Im currently using stock $2ea ones from Bridgestone/anyothertyrejoint.
Hi all I'm getting a set of work wheels for the UZS131.
Ive been told buy the guy with the whees that I will need internal hex type wheels nuts.
The guy selling me the wheels has work nuts for $200, what I want to know is are these worth the cash, or am I just better to hit super crap up and buy some from there.
I've seen around that you need a good high quaility hex to prevent rounding of the hex. I just really want to know are the work ones worth paying for, will they strip out just as easy as some super crap ones

i splashed out and bought some volk wheel nuts when i got my wheels,
allthough they look increadibly good, and weigh next to nothing, i do agree with takai,
they do strip out just as easy

Go down to Bob-Jane, and ask them for barrell wheel nuts. $2ea, plus about $8 for the driver bit.
Thats what I did for my crown.
...... butt scratcher?!
if you're going to wakefield, the tyre shop in goulburn does them cheap cheap cheap (need them for linden's race rims)
You will damage/crack them if you use a rattle gun on them so thats something to be avoided.

Ive found the best thing is to use a 12mm Kinchrome 1/2" hex driver with them, as the "points" are slightly rounded so it uses the wide flat guts of the nut to grip on instead. Like $12 from any good tool shop.
Plus you can chuck it on your torque wrench to do them up properly.... you do do them up properly dont you?

never cracked any of mine with years of abuse with the rattle gun,Originally Posted by LeeRoy
tho they are wearing out and the hex is getting a little loose, (thats probably on and off 50+ times)
$200 buck for nuts is....just nuts!![]()
I've seen ones that have cracked though the apex of the hex where the nut is at its narrowest.

All the ones I have seen use a 10mm hex.Originally Posted by takai
As for the original question just get the cheap ones and when they look a little dodgy later on just replace as needed.
