TD-07 is a big turbo dude, id be suprised if you got any decent spool out of it...
seems the GT35R or GT30R is the choice, im sure there are dyno sheets floating around.
how would a tdo7-25g do ?
would this get the numbers and not be too laggy,
i have a feeling it would be to big and be lag central
just thinking cause i found a full bolt on trust kit to suit a 1jz for around 5k, for someone like me who hates fabrication and fuckin around may be so much simpler.

kyle approched me and said. let me build you a manifold, send yours up i'll make sure the turbo flange is in the same position so you doint have to change dump pipes oil water lines etc. if it isnt better than what you have for response and power, send it back. if it does improve response etc then just put a sticker on the car.
kudos to kyle for having the balls to back his product.
my response is 500 rpm quicker, and it makes more power, so even if i paid full price, that result is worth $1200 or what ever he charges every day of the week. my trust manifold i had before, had to be rewelded every 2nd race meeting.
if people/products get results, they deserve to be recommended by the people using them and having sucess with them.

what about the t67 ?
i know the garret turbos seem to be the go and personally id love a gt3076r
but yea just weighing up the trust kits as well,

Sure it's a big turbo but no doubt would make some big numbers and haul ass on a 1J, let alone decently spool.
Todd you definately need to be looking at the 30 series turbos for what your after, i reckon you will more than likely want more power though down the track.
The reason why people say the GT3040/GT3082 is a mismatched turbo is because the size of the compressor wheel is so much larger than the turbine wheel. I'm pretty sure Garret list on their turbo matching info that you want to shoot for a compressor wheel about 110% the diameter of the turbine wheel.
From dyno graphs I have seen the GT3082 actually builds boost slower than the GT3582 due to having a smaller and less efficient turbine driving the compressor.
Interesting, thanks. when i get time ill look over the specs of that series turbo and post some info back up here.

same as a GT2876r, yes they have there uses but are probly best avoided in general as the turbine cant drive the compressor as hard and the smaller exducer of the turbine also leads to higher exhaust manifold pressure than a well matched turbo.Originally Posted by Joshstix

PS 1JZ747, i actually like kyles stuff because he puts a lot of effort into designing his manis properly rather than just the "slap it together" approach most performance shops take, but whats to say one of his manifolds is better than mine?
have you ever seen one of mine that hasn't had space or $$$ restraints put on it? i dare say you havn't.

kyle backs his product, he has his product on several sport compact cars which are at the top of their field, actually national record holders and also australian champions and world record holders. he was smart and approached the right people. im all for any one having ago dude, if its important to you to be considered as a great manifold builder then you know you will have to get your product onto some cars that get regular media attention, compete at the top of their class and drivers/owners that will talk about your product when a camera or microphone gets put in front of them.
i hope you come out and go really well in your ozmod car. i think its going to take a well built motor in a light chassis to catch mckern with a good wheel man. you go well in ozmod mate and their will be heaps of people knocking on your door but i am sure with the knowledge you have and the respect of the toyota community you all ready do![]()
sorry, little off topic.

i probly should have been more politically correct and said "whats better about kyles than any other well built steampipe manifold" ie VWR etc, i wasn't just talking about my stuff or having a dig at you.
and im all for the "china manis are crap" debate and the 30 or more i have either fixed or replaced will verify that.
i do actually work on quite a few track cars but choose not to sticker them up anymore as i cant stand the 40 odd calls after a weekend of racing that generally just wastes my time.
tis all good, and hope to see you out there next year
anyway back on topic
a well built manifold and a GT3076r with a .82rear will get the numbers but leave bugger all head room, if you feel you may want more later and can deal with another waiting 500rpm later for the turbo to reach its boost threshold then a GT3582r with a .82 would also be a good thing and leave abit of headroom for improvement later.

you sure do make a lot of "my bad" comments eldar. you seem to have to correct yourself a lot. sorry its just confusing with all that reputation.
