    Default 1JZ Throttle Body Vac Line

    Can anyone help me with where the vacum line fitting that is before the butterfly on the throttle body goes to? engine is a 1jz_gte from a zz30 soarer

    here is a pic of the offending vac line...anyone got a full vacum system diagram i think i need to verify a few others

    It shouldn't be a vac line as it isn't post throttle body..

    I believe that port is for the Power Steering idle up.

    There should be a hose that runs from that port to the PS pressure bypass valve in the high pressure PS line, the PS pressure bypass valve opens to allow some air to bypass the throttle body (the other connection of the PS pressure bypass valve goes to the other side of the throttle body).

    This makes the engine not stall when you wack full lock on at idle, or doing a U turn

    If you aren't using it I'd block it off as it will be a boost leak

    Thanks wilbo i will block it off seeing as the power steer lines i had made up for the VL done have this function

    My idle up vac line isn't connected in my car. It seems to work fine. I've done full lock turns and been driving it for a few months without issue. I've got a bolt plugging the hose. It was making a horrible whistle when it was left open and the car idled like a maniac (read: high).

    i can confirm this goes to the idle up valve on the powersteering, just checked it then
