Standard ECU cannot be tuned. The problems you describe clearly have nothing to do with the tune though; I'd be looking at the coil packs.
Hey Guys,
I just bought a JZX90 Cresta and I'm loving it!! It has been misbehaving a little bit though - sometimes hard to start, fluctuating idle, and will occasionally cut-out when you stick the boot into it. It certainly doesn't feel like anything servere as these are all inconsistent problems. The only mods are a blitz front-mount, and a dual 2 1/4 inch exhaust from the cat-back. I was wondering if and where I could get the standard ecu tuned. I tried a search through the forum, but couldn't find the info I was after.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers....

As said, the stock ECU's aren't easily messed with,
Norbies suggestion of coil packs / plugs is the first place I would also start looking...
Cheers

There is a thread on here about replacing leaky capacitors on the 1jz ecu.

Thanks alot for the advice fellas.
Just a little more info on the symptoms:
When accelerating, it plays up at about 4000rpm, but if u keep at it, it clears up around 5000rpm and above - it is generally a bit rough whenever you accelerate quickly. When the engine isn't under load (eg when in neutral), it freely revs through. There is a little rattle noise coming from the cam gears, but that is only at idle, and may be un-related.
A mate suggested it may be a problem with the 02 sensor or other sensor??
How can I tell if the coil packs are shagged?
Sorry about all the Qs fellas, but I dunno too much about this stuff.
