Classic Engine to EFI

About the engine, Do you know how much it would cost to ship an engine over in a shipping crate to Philo? I know you were saying that toysport wanted $4000 for an 18RG, but one could be found over here for between $500-1000 USD, or a 22RE with injection could easily be had for $500.

I'd guess shipping wouldn't be more than $500?

Well thanks you for the intention. I thought you just asked out of curiosity.
Lots of job opening online, but I still have to complete my documents next year.

Back to the topic. I am planning to use a 4G63 ECU.
I know about the parts needed for EFI so there will be no problem to that.

Is it just the fuel map I need to tune for me to ran EFI?
If I can get an 18R-E fuel map (even as printout), can I go EFI?

The time it will take to work it out, program the ecu, make it work (if it can be altered out to the rqd parameters) get matching sensors, make them fit the existing/make new holes in the engine a 500 dollar 22re package looks awfully good.

Agreed with Clubagreenie... the 4G ECU will take as much effort or more to install (probably more due to the plugs/loom compatibility issues/splicing) as putting in a Megasquirt, and what it costs you extra in buying, it will save in tuning time. A MS will give you all the tuneability you need and more. Or as stated, a 22RE could be a well and truly viable option, as they can be had for cheap with all the ECU and loom... and splicing that into your car wont be all that hard.

Alternately a 1uz package could be had for probably $1500- shipped and I'm sure that engineering over there isn't as bad as here
