Did the AE92 ever come in 4WD
Anyone know if there was ever a 4WD AE92 option in the 90's in japan or the states or europe - i know we didn't get anything resembling cool (aside from the SX and GTi) like the ae92 GTZ levin i used to have
Just wondering if it ever came in 4 wheel drive (not 4 wheel disk)

+1 for AE95 Wagon. wheelbase is a fair bit longer than a AE92 though...

there was also a diesel engined version I think.

my manual has pages for 4WD and diesel.. same manual my mom's car had (exactly same car as me except AE-90, 4A-F engine)..
there were pictures of the cars but didnt' specify which was 4WD and which wasn't... so i assume the same manual was handed out for hatch, sedan, lift-back and wagon

if they had a live rear axle, would it be safe to assume they used AE95 running gear (transmissions and diff/ rear suspension .. ) possibly mated to the 4AGE?

There were a couple of AE95 sedans imported into Australia. No hatches that I have ever seen. And you already know the AE95R wagons. Should be all 4AFE per this Japanese info. http://www.cars-directory.net/specs/...orolla/1989_5/

as far as i know there was no stock hatch 4WD as the rear is shorter than the sedan.
the fuel tank has to be in the boot to make room for the diff.

sedan was made only 2 years(from info I have for US market.......) 1989 and 1990. The wagon was made from 1988 through 1992. The wagon got unique sheetmetal, the sedan was identical looking to a fwd model, the onlydifferences would be badging(from the outside that is....)
