know the size of the AE86 stub, bearings, discs, etc.. or have a link with realiable info?

We got the vented discs here in the US. So reusing the caliper might be an option for me. But upgrading to a 2 pot slider and a larger disc would clear 14" wheel no worries and help heaps with breaking torque.

i already have agx's and coilover setup on my ae86 strut tubes which is the biggest reason i don't want to shorten a set of *A60 struts and do another swap..

Stuff the JDM rotors and calipers, we are now goin RA60 rotors and caliper modified to fit stock hubs. Spoke to a couple of engineers and not one was keen to touch them, and besides there is not much meat in the center to remove. We are just goin to add some metal to them and a back plate to hold it all together, which we hope will work brilliantly....maybe

how large are the jaydeeEm rotors? in diameter, thickness and weight?
for some reason the size is difficult to find
    oh and caliper weight....

    ADM - 234x12mm solid
    JDM 234x18mm vented

i can weigh my JDM calipers for you tomorrow sometime if i can find some scales.

im pretty sure theyd only be a little bit heavier than ADM calipers becasue they have the same piston size only differance is they accomodate a thicker disc.

combined with decent pads they do a good enough job. my adm struts have good pads and once warm they were almost locking the ae71 up at times when i was fanging it. combined with better suspension the vented rotors will more more than enough stopping power. the cars are only pretty light at the end of the day.

one main reason everyone raves about them if u can still run 13inch wheels with them (not that ud want to) but most brake upgrades for the hachi eitehr require alterations to the steering geometry by using different struts or brakes that wont clear 14 inch wheels.

ill do it at some stage over the weekend for u stu

ahh, i forgot that all the real spoontah fans still want 13" rim goodness so they can run period style rims

at the end of the day (etc) different driving style/purpose needs different size...
234mm vented is not much bigger than 218mm solids on KE70 but must still be a little better...

does anyone know the installing diameters of balljoints for AE86/S13/S14????
or alternatively, the width of the LCA's of S13/S14/AE86 near the point it bolts to cross-member?

edit: some balljoints... hmm, KE30-AE86, corona etc.. BJ145 ... no S13/S14 tho

What is the control tyre exactly?

Does eveyone have to run a 60 series tyre despite different cars and wheel combos?

    Yokohama A048s
And yes, all early model cars (pre89 i think) have to run 60 series.

us yanks got the vented front discs on the AE86's both GTS & SR5. But GTS rears are soilds just like everyone else.

On AE7x/Te7x cars they have the soild rotor front and drum rear.

    doh.
