if i was going to keep the car then yes, i would go full blast and get porting and polishing done at the same time, but since I want to sell it ASAP and get a supra, then my options are either sell as is for a low price, or fix it and sell at a fair price.

    Got an idea.

Apparently costs involved for labour and parts to repair the BHG will cost around $2500. Considering i really want to sell the car for >20K, i would think $17500 is reasonable if i try and sell as is.

Otherwise, If i cant sell it for 17.5K with the BHG, then ill source another motor, and swap it over. Then I can keep this motor and build it up for my next car.

Now ive just gotta find someone will to buy it for $17,500

No offence but I dont think you had as many things replaced as I have. Almost anything and everything has been replaced (obviously not the HG yet) and its the only aristo in australia with this unique kit. Car yards have told me they would sell it for 24K and from looking on carsales, ebay and forums, I dont see why it isnt worth 20K mint.

Yes 1 and 2jz arnt exempt from BHG but they mainly get BHG from running low on water .
I do recall yr first issue was a leaking water pump and id say it run low on water at some stage . All of the 1 and 2 J BHG,s ive done are from the top rad tank splitting and losing some water .

that could possibly have been the cause. It did have heaps of gunk all through the system, so maybe they used a chemi-weld type solution before sending it over. Crazy japs!
