hey guys, i'm in the middle of a 91 jzz30 1jz conversion into my 89 ma70. my problem is that i spent all day today swearing and cursing trying to fit the 1jz in, to no avail. i think my problem is that the jzz30 alloy mounts don't fit onto my ma70 cross member mounts. would that mean i have to get jza70 alloy mounts??? it seems like the engine mounts are sitting about 20mm out towards the front of the car but i can't move the engine back anymore because the engine is hitting the firewall.
i've done searches about the differences in the mounts but there isn't any specific measurements, all i can find is that you need a 89+ cross member which i'm pretty sure i got seeing as the car was made in February 89 and it uses the round rubber mounts. so if i got the 89+ cross member all i should need are some jza70 alloy mounts???
please someone help i have to get this engine in quick or my mother in-law is going to kill me.
cheers
dan
JZZ30 engine mounts are compatible with the JZA80, not JZ/MA70. You will need JZA70 mounts to make it bolt in.
