send it to an instrument repairer to have it recalibrated
hi i have a rav 4 that im in middle of converting to run on lpg hence i joined club but im also motorcyle fanatic and its a problem with my bike i could do with help on ive fitted a rev counter of a 750 to my 1100 kawasaki but it reads twice as fast as it should that is at 1000 actual rpm it is showing 2000 and i figure reason is to do with ignition system because they both run on the wasted spark princible but 750 has 4 cyl. 4 plugs two twin out let coils and fires every rev of engine where as the 1100 has 4 cyl. 8 plugs and 4 twin out let coils but as i take the rev counter feed off one of coils it fires twice as many impulses as i need so is there something i can wire into rev counter lead that would filter out every other spark impulse any help or point in right direction would be very much apreciated

I used the Jaycar digital speedo adjuster to correct the tacho in a Silvia fitted with an RB20DET. I had to reduce the tacho signal coming from the computer by 1/3 and it worked like a charm once I was able to get the imput signal filtered/conditioned correctly.
